Our 10x36 Sheldon lathe made in
1946 and still going strong.  We
advocate using good old American iron
to do our work.
Our Bridgeport vertical mill made in
1962.  A useful tool for all kinds of
work.
The 100 lb Beaudry power forging
hammer.  As near as I can tell, this
machine was built during World War
One and I still use it regularly.  The
power jack shaft system was built in
our shop and is driven by a 3 hp motor
with speed reduced through a set of
pulley sizes to drive the hammer head
to a rate of approximately 275 rpm.
<<This is a short video showing the
process of forging a point under the
power hammer.  This tool is a great
help to the modern blacksmith in
reducing the amount of heavy forging
typically done by helpers in years past.
